Our Mission
The Santa Fe Solar Supporters coalition believes in building a better future for our families, friends, and neighbors right here in Santa Fe County.

We’ve seen firsthand how large-scale solar and energy storage projects can do more than provide clean, affordable power—they create real opportunities. These projects bring good jobs, vital tax revenue for schools and emergency services, and much-needed improvements to our local infrastructure.

We understand that new energy storage technologies might feel unfamiliar to some—but these systems are built with rigorous safety standards and are proven to make our power grid more reliable and resilient. By storing excess energy and delivering it when we need it most, they help us move away from polluting fossil fuels and toward a cleaner, healthier future.

Santa Fe County is at a crossroads. We can lead the way for New Mexico by embracing clean energy projects that are thoughtfully planned to respect our land, conserve water, and preserve the unique rural character we cherish. These projects aren’t just about energy—they’re about ensuring a brighter, safer, and more sustainable future for everyone who calls Santa Fe home.

We’re proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with longtime residents and local leaders who share our vision for progress. Together, we can make Santa Fe County a leader in clean energy innovation, proving that this community can inspire big change.

Let's make our county a model of clean energy leadership today and for generations to come!

If Santa Fe rejects this [the Rancho Viejo] project, it won’t just deprive us of green energy—it will stoke misinformation-fueled resistance to renewable energy projects everywhere. Fear spreads, just like wildfire does."
